This sterling silver pendant is finely detailed with an Eye of Ra sitting centrally on a compass rose. The Eye of Ra typically represents the destructive power of the sun, which was one of the most important parts of Egyptian life. It represented life since without the sun there would be none. It also represents truth and justice. The Eye of Ra was also believed to be able to see anything, which is why it was often placed above doorways or entrances in temples- so that no one could escape its watchful gaze. The Eye of Ra is different from the Eye of Horus as the Eye of Horus has tear lines on the left instead of the right. I did not know this before finding this pendant so you learn something new every day. This pendant comes with a silver plated chain for immediate wear.
